Outside the peak season, the journey takes 20–40 minutes, but from June to August, particularly on Friday afternoons and Sunday evenings, traffic jams on these routes can double the journey time. If you’re planning a weekend trip to the beach, it’s worth setting off before 10.00 am or after 7.00 pm to avoid the peak tourist traffic.
Can you drive from Koszalin to Słowiński National Park?
Yes – the Słowiński National Park, with its shifting sand dunes in Łeba, is situated about 60 km from Koszalin (about an hour’s drive). A car is practically essential here, as direct bus services are infrequent and seasonal. During the summer season, there is a charge for parking at the entrance to Łeba:
- Summer season (15 June – 31 August): 50 PLN per car per day.
- Other months (1 May – 14 June and 1 September – 30 September): 40 PLN per car per day.
- Campervans/buses: 80 PLN per day.
It’s worth arriving before 9.00 am to avoid queues and find a space close to the park entrance. You can easily combine your trip with a stop in Mielno or Darłowo on the way back.
